The physical portion of Ready, Set, Cereal! is a combination of laser cut plastic and wood construction. For the hardware portion we used Raspberry Pi, stepper motors, a light sensor (to detect if a bowl is present), power supply, liquid valve (for milk dispensing), and a spoon dispenser modified with a stepper motor. We also created a front end website for people to order their cereal from. rnrnWe did all of this in 30 hours with a team of 5. We took first place at Cereal Hack 4 at our local hackerspace in Sacramento. Our team has a diverse background, 1 computer engineer, 1 back-end developer, 1 front-end developer, 1 mechanical engineer, and 1 designer. We would love to share our project with the world at Maker Faire. “,”public_description”:”Built by 5 crazy Makers during a hackathon, Ready, Set, Cereal! creates any combination of cereal you want with automated milk and spoon dispenser.
